My Style: First Week of Classes

Hello loves,
I am so sorry about the lack of great posts recently! I will be back to posting regularly, I promise! I am thinking I’ll be uploading on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday’s while I’m back at college since the weekends are the best time for me to sit down and do it. So, I can officially say I’ve finished my first week of classes. Oh my. It has been kind of crazy, but I will hopefully get back in the swing of things soon. The first week is full of first impressions with brand new professors and classmates, so I always try to look my best on the first week (you never know when you’ll see an attractive guy). J So, I decided to attempt some OOTD pictures. I am typically in a rush and have no one to take pictures of these outfits, so bear with my not-so-high quality pictures. And I never got to take a picture of my first outfit, so I will have to skip my first day (I loved that look too).

Tuesday: With the winter cold, I always go for a comfy sweater. I love the pastel colors in this top, and it was a brand new one I bought to wear again at college, making it that much better. I threw on my new Topshop necklace, which is one of my new favorite pieces of jewelry, and I was prepped for the day.
Wednesday: I decided to wear my new oxfords that I got in my Mall of America haul, and I LOVE them. I wanted to pick a more classic outfit, and I love the cream top with the black dots. It also has a black bow tie which I love just as much!

Thursday: I went a bit edgy today with my look. I love my denim vests for summer, so I like being able to incorporate them in my winter wardrobe. I had a floral, long-sleeve top that I got a while ago and decided to layer it under the vest. I wore my silver chain necklace and one of my favorite pairs of earrings. Costume jewelry is my favorite, so the oversized jewels on the earrings are perfect for me!
Friday: So, I woke up for yoga at 8, which is wayyy early for a college student. Well, it’s early for basically any person. I only have one class on Fridays (of course, Algebra), so I decided to wear something simple. I chose my Nirvana sweatshirt (aka my Luke Hemmings shirt) and my pair of acid wash jeans. I threw on my black boots and was ready for the day!
This was (basically) my week in style. I hope you enjoyed this. Again, the pictures aren’t very good, so I’ll try to work on this for the upcoming weeks. I’ll need to find myself a photographer! I might not get quite as dressy for my courses in the upcoming weeks as I did now, but I never wear sweatpants to class. I’m thinking about doing a few college posts, like a tour around my dorm room, campus, what classes I’m taking, and other sorts! What do you think? Would that be something you all would love to read? Please leave your responses in the comments. I would love to hear what you all have to say!

Much love,
Maggie D. xx

My Recent Hits & Misses

Hello loves,
I’m back at college! I finally got unpacked and (attempted) to fit everything back to where it belongs! I am glad to be back, but I am a bit nervous to start classes tomorrow. I need to get back into the routine of waking up early and attending classes, but I’m sure that will happen quickly! I just wanted to update you with some of my hits & misses for the past week!
My ABSOLUTE favorite for the month of January is not related to fashion or beauty at all. Downton Abbey has been my biggest addiction. I. Can’t. Stop. Watching. It. I bought the first season on Black Friday and figured I would start watching it over break. I watched the first season and got hooked. The storyline is perfect, their clothing is superb, and the characters (ummm Tom Branson) are quite attractive. I am on the second episode of the fourth season and want to catch up before the newest episode tonight! I’ll probably have to catch up on that episode as well because of the Grammys…
I also got a new phone case that I am so excited about. It’s a simple pink bumper case with a clear back. It’s a random new purchase that I got on Amazon and I love it.
Sorry about the terrible picture--it's from my desk at college!
I recently posted that I purchased the Revlon Photo Ready Perfecting Primer, and it was, sadly, one of my misses. I have naturally oily skin and a bit larger pores, so if that is not something that you have to deal with, then it may work just fine. The product felt smooth going on and I do feel like it had a decent base for my makeup. It didn’t, however, keep my makeup in place for very long. Again, if you don’t have as oily of a face as me, it may work better for you!
I’m sorry—this isn’t my greatest post. I really wanted to do something great, but I promise I’ll be posting again soon. And, again, I recommend watching Downton Abbey. So. Good. J I’ll let you know how this first week goes and see how everything else works out. I hope to hear from you all again soon!

Much love,
Maggie D. xx

Update: I wrote this a few days ago and I had my first day of classes today! AAHH. It's so crazy getting back into the routine of school again. I am a bit overwhelmed, but my professors seem great so far, so I am excited to meet the rest of my professors tomorrow & see how it goes! Have you headed back to school? How's it going for you? Please leave your comments below. I am always curious to see what people are studying. :)

Quick Update: Back at College

Hello loves,
So, I didn't post a second time last week like I was hoping to, but I have a favorites & review posts to put up soon, so you have something to look forward to! I just got back to college today and I am working on unpacking now. I seem to have forgotten how small our closets are, so I may have brought to much clothes back (oops!). I can't wait to upload some posts soon and watch the Grammys tomorrow night! Can't wait to talk to you all once I'm settled down again.

Much love,
Maggie D. xx

My Blog Got a Makeover!

Hello loves,

Beauty Haul & Update

Hello loves,
I wanted to do just a little update for you this week. I am heading back to college on Saturday, which will be a big adjustment for me. I came back home on December 11, so it’s been a long time since I’ve had classes! I am thrilled to head back to see my friends, but I am quite nervous and excited for the courses I am taking. I hope they all go well! Again, I am hoping to continue posting about once a week, and there may be a few more lifestyle posts about college living since there is always so much going on! I also wanted to do a mini drugstore beauty haul post that I just bought at Wal Mart. So, here it goes! (P.S. Sorry about the terrible photos--my camera & lighting were not agreeing with me!)
One thing I’ve never tried is a facial primer, so I decided to try one out! I purchased the Revlon Photo Ready Perfecting Primer, and I’m excited to try it out. I am typically impressed with their products, so I’m excited to give this one a try.
I can’t live without lipstick. I use it all the time, and I am constantly trying different brands and shades. So, I decided to pick up this gorgeous light pink shade. It is a Revlon Color Burst Lip Butter in the shade 005 Sugar Frosting. It is a perfect light pink that I can’t wait to try this spring.
Another brand that I like is e.l.f. Their products are cheap, so I love to try them out. Most of their products work well, so I gave a few new ones a try. I purchased their Eye Primer & Liner Sealer. I am hoping it works well, as it was only $3, which is much cheaper than most other brands! I also purchased their Cream Eyeliner in the black shade. It looks like a gorgeous product, so I can’t wait to use it.
Covergirl is probably my go-to brand. I needed to pick up my everyday concealer, and their CG Smoothers are my favorite. I started using it last fall, and I haven’t tried any others since. I love it so much and definitely recommend it! I also wanted to try their new mascara, the Bombshell Volume with the two-step mascara. I was so intrigued by this, and I can’t wait to see how it works!
And, last but not least, I had to purchase another EOS lip balm before heading back to school. I LOVE their lip balms so much.
Here are a few of my beauty favorites and new products to try. Have you tried any of these products? If so, what did you think of them? I will try to do another post (or maybe two!) before I head back to school. I can’t wait to continue to share my fashion, beauty, and life adventures with you all! Thank you for reading—I can’t wait to see how this semester goes!

Much love and thanks,
Maggie D. xx

Mall of America Haul

Hello lovelies,
I’m finally back! I am sorry I took a few days off—I just went on an incredible shopping trip. In and around my small town, there are really no great places to go shopping. I love going on mini family trips anyway, so the fact that we were able to go to one of the biggest malls in the United States was AMAZING. I was so incredibly happy. I was also able to meet up with one of my college friends who lives in the area which was a blast as well. I am not posting this to brag at all! I am really hoping it doesn’t come across that way. I never get the chance to splurge, so when I get the opportunity to go shopping at a good mall, then I take the chance. I have put in extra hours at work, so I figured I would let myself do a little shopping. So, without further ado, here are my purchases!

So, the first place I stopped was Urban Outfitters. I love looking at their merchandise online, so I figured I would take a little peek inside. While most of their original priced merchandise is too spendy for me, I headed back to the sale and found an adorable denim dress jumper. It was on sale for $20, and I am in LOVE. I thought a nice printed crop top would look perfect underneath, and I found that at my next stop.
Sorry for the terrible angle--I was running out of daylight so I had to take it here!
If you don’t know, I am obsessed with Forever 21. They have cheap prices and clothes that I just love. This store was a huge two stories, so I was in shopping shock. So, I went through the store hunting for a cheap crop top perfect for summer to go with my new jumper, and I found a cute floral one for only $8.80. It’s perfect for summer, and I love the print! I also found an adorable London tee for only $10.80 (since London is still my dream!). As I told you before, my style icon is Lou Teasdale. I have adored her striped jeans that she wore at my concert (how cool!), so I went on a hunt to find a pair. I found some on Forever 21’s website, and when I went to the store, I couldn’t find the pair I was looking for. However, I was going through the clearance, and I found the jeans on sale for $16.99. Then, I found out they were an extra 50% off of that, so they ended up being $8.49. It doesn’t get better than that. I also bought a band tee that Lou has (or a very similar) for $15.80. I was one happy girl leaving that store.

I headed into Aerie next, in which they have plenty of dainty lingerie. I got this lacey bra on sale for $15. I thought it would be perfect to wear under a tee or tank for summer, and I love the light peach color.

I had never been to a Nordstrom, or a Topshop for that matter, but I had dreamed of Topshop for as long as I can remember. I love everything! So, I had to take a peek and see what I could find. Of course, regularly priced merchandise is quite expensive, so I headed to the sale and found some gorgeous products. When I laid eyes on the sweater, it was love at first sight. It was regularly $72, on sale for $19.99. It was perfect. I also got this chunky, silver jeweled necklace for $9.98, originally $20.00. I also got this gorgeous, jeweled brooch for $9.98, originally $28.00. I got an over-sized, chain necklace that I thought was so unique for $14.98, originally $40.00. I had some amazing sales there! I also heard that Batiste products are incredible, and I had never seen them anywhere near me before, so I purchased some dry shampoo for $8.00. I’m so excited to try it!

I had to stop at American Apparel and see what I could find, and I had to take a peek at their bows. I love Bethany Mota on YouTube, and she is always wearing the most adorable bows, so I had to buy one! I got this giant pink one for $10, and I cannot wait to wear it!

When I met up with my friend from college, she recommended some stores for me to check out. I went to Francesca’s, a little boutique, and got these gorgeous earrings on sale for $4.99. Everything there was absolutely adorable!
We also went into a jewelry store called Six, and again, sale jewelry got me. I got this adorable ring for only $1.99. It doesn’t get any better than that.

She also took me to DSW, Designer Shoe Warehouse. I had never been to one, and I definitely never expected to buy anything. We were looking through the sale shoes, and I found some adorable shoes. They are Betsey Johnson, and were originally $104.94. I looked and saw they were 80% off, which was incredible. I got them for only $20.99. Basically the best sale of the day!
I also took a pit-stop at H&M and got a few things. I was looking for a new bag, and this bag was on sale for only $15.00! I also got a new, statement necklace for only $5, but it was buy one get one free sale products, so the necklace was free. I also just read a blog post from a fellow blogger recommending the Smokey palette, so I figured I would try it out for only $5.95.

Whoofta, that’s finally everything! I know this is a lot, and I know I didn’t need all of this. I am so blessed to be able to try all of these new things, and I am so glad to share it with you! Have you had any recent hauls? What are your favorites? Leave your comments below! I would love to hear feedback from you all! Thanks for putting up with this long post. And, again, I would like to thank you for reading my blog. This means the world to me, and I love you all so very much.

Thank you, and much love,
Maggie D. xx
